We are a group of people who think that the Unique ID is a great idea. As a part of our professions and passions, we had both the necessity and the interest to know more details about the UID Project and analyze it far deeper than the average analyst out there. Some of us have also worked with / within government setups for some time now – and understand how things work and don’t work.

We see the UID Project as a special project designed to help pro-poor welfare programs reach the intended beneficiaries by reducing fraudulent fund diversions. It will also make it easier for all of  us to work with the government by reducing forms and attachments.

Recently, we are seeing this project become a victim of misunderstanding, unfounded fears and narrow political agendas. We feel that it is our duty as concerned Indians to put in front of you what we know; to counter the flawed arguments as best as we can; and let you, the reader, decide for yourself what is good for you and the country. 

So we created this site to spread awareness on the UID project and, while doing that, to also dispel some myths and misconceptions. We know a lot of like minded people, so we created the means for them to voice their support. In a sense, we now have a platform to speak up in support of the project.

To be sure, there are some aspects of the project implementation that we would like to see changed -- the UIDAI is not without its shortcomings. However, these are not aspects that question the very fundamentals of the project. We therefore, firmly and unhesitatingly say this: We support Aadhaar.
