AP races ahead, Chandigargh accepts Aadhaar as proof for all benefit schemes
Aadhaar-based services to kick off in five districts soon
Andhra Pradesh is racing to become the first state in the country to roll out Aadhaar-based services.
The Centre has informed the state authorities that five districts - Hyderabad, Chittoor, East Godavari, Rangareddy and Anantapur - have been identified for initiating certain government schemes based on Aadhaar (unique identification number) on a pilot basis.

UID integrated with schemes for residents
The UT administration has integrated UID/Aadhaar number with resident-centric schemes with the issuance of a notification for the use of Aadhaar number as a valid proof of identity (POI) and proof of address (POA) for various welfare schemes being run by departments, boards, corporations and public undertakings.
